Valentine's Day

So it’s valentine’s day

And here’s a photo of the man I love

He’ll hate that I took it

I’ll get that look

But I’m glad I took it

it’s of him sitting in the ER, for the umpteenth time

waiting with me

Waiting for yet another doctor to tell me

They don’t know what’s going on

l’ll know more than the guy with that degree

He’s spent so many nights at the hospital with me

Trying to get comfortable 

In a chair that’s not made to be a bed

Running out to the store to buy me something to make me feel better

Few people seem him like that

A man who would give anything to make me better

Few people see me like I really am

Someone who can’t even make it out of bed many days

I am so thankful he stays

Not many would sign up to live a life like mine

And few still would stay by my side

Yet he does
